Call of The Wild: The Angler

Role: Experienced Sound Designer // Lead Sound Designer

Platforms: PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series-X-S, Playstation 4-5

For Angler, I was responsible for defining and executing the complete audio vision for the project, working in lockstep with the directors group. This entailed end-to-end project ownership, from initial planning and resource allocation to final delivery. I managed all external audio partnerships, including music and VO, from first contact through to final asset integration. During this time, I also expanded the team's capabilities by onboarding and mentoring two junior members, guiding them in best practices, providing feedback and laying the groundwork for their professional growth.

The primary audio objective was to build upon the legacy of Hunter: Call of the Wild while creating a distinct, immersive experience. Departing from the franchise's simulation focus, we crafted a more stylized soundscape designed to evoke the feeling of being present in nature. This was realized through subtle musical scoring during exploration and punchy, tactile feedback that provided satisfying punctuation for the core fishing gameplay.
